  1. I just want to say thank you to everyone who keeps House of Horror alive :)

  2. Michaela, that would have to be one insane 3rd grade class - but I would totally go to see it!

  3. Hi Gary! I just got back from Europe and read your story. Very creepy and much different than Gingerbread Kingdom. I don't think a 3rd grade class will make a production out of this. :)

  4. Hi Sam, I want to buy 2 for the price of 1. How do I do that? And I clicked into an error when I pressed "buy now."

    Happy Birthday

    Gayle Arrowood

  5. Love the magazine and thanks for publishing my story Leech! I would love feedback if anybody cares to comment. Stay golden, HoH!

  6. hahaha, this is a joke right!!

  7. Sam, I enjoy your site. Is your new novels out yet? Maybe I can give you a blurb, help you sell a few more copies. Write me at above e-mail. Yours, PIKE

  8. Happy Birthday HOH!

  9. You are so welcome! hahahaha!

  10. Thanks, HoH, for helping me procastinate...this place is like the Winston Mansion--once you get in, you can't find the way out! =)

  11. Keep it going HoH!

  12. What a jolly website you have....I surely must dig up something to submit.

  13. Awesome e-zine. I like the creepy ass music too. This is definately a great home for dark fiction!

  14. Jonathan-please zip it already. Go start a blog and pop off there.

  15. Really, not impressed with the book selections either. It seems High School, not even professional-grade like a King or Rice, even.

    Filius Nullius

  16. How do people get paid for submissions on this site? Is it free, after you send ten pieces of work and then are rejected after heresay? And they already said they liked it- all of it! I write for entertainment purposes, also, but I do wonder the owners intent. It honestly seems to me, that oversea publishers do not give the most indicative amount of information to their bread and butter contributors... Or is asking that question of and about payment reason for Blacklisting too?

  17. I doubt Elizadeth and her fictitious career ending stories can beat that. But oh well. To write from your heart, and she lie about it, is no different than thiefs in the cover of darkness. God help her and a growing mustache, Morticia-lol.

  18. My Best Friend

    Jonathan Phillip Allen

My Procrustean rack, smothered in parts,

layers of dark maroon, a mossy mauve.

To clean, treats, pieces, ventricles and hearts,

my holy matrimony estranged or suave?

The rack never speaks but only squeaks,

    remembering its job, final shrieks.

Limbs, legs, eviscerated first, and oily,

    greasy, witching brew stew immersed.

Buckets below, O' how I thirst for the divine

    of macabre-made barrow of brine.

The dulcet scrapes and delectable flakes

syrupy sweet, meaty morsels- mine, all mine!

Rancid decay with love and rust, yet benign!

  19. Nice issue. I liked it, except the Valentine Candy story in the basement is missing the ending.

  20. Wonder who and the heck Cityof recovery.com press is. Are they viable? The I would worry about, from across the pond. I do not worry about that here- thank you, Char.

  21. Am glad to be a member of someone I have found that is legitimate in this business. I am happy I met Mrs. Gledson and her professionalism. I am sad that I ain't that great at poetry, however. lol. My main skill is now the short story field, being timed in under an hour, in script, and about two hours in perfecting. I love the long game too, but dabble in the pure rhyming schemes as a smaller, faster rewarding hobby. I am so proud of this site, as well, for showing professional courtesy and couth. I dislike trash writing of critics when they are not bona fide or even established. Though I poorer than I would like to be, I am established based on the Scifi Channels mis-appropriation of my first manuscript, and both first two books- BTP & T4G(not spamming here, sorry). Well, I am elated to meet all of you and thank you. If it matters, I am studying 66 Websters Dictionary, in that of Latin, for a base, and do edit others for free. I make mistakes, too, because I see my writing in my head, but only 95% of it may be on the papel-lol. When I see others', I am more astute that way, but not judgmental. Courtesy is courtesy, and taste is taste. Dominus obiscum, Deo volente, a Yank,

  22. House of Horror ROCKS! The freakiest soundscapes on the net. I am honored to be a part of Dreams & Screams with your representation. Keep up the good work and look for further submissions in the future. I wish I wouldn't have missed the "brutality" deadline.

  23. I liked the layout of this Haunted House issue. I too found the Malbro story freakie.

  24. Issue 8 sure was worth waiting for. Last story in the Cellar-Dylan Malbro- totally freaked me out!

  25. Just waiting for issue #8--a great site.

  26. I can't wait to see what Tyson the mysterious stranger will do next!

  27. WTF? LOL!

  28. 1,2, freddy`s coming for you

    3,4, better lock your doors

    5,6, he`ll play his tricks

    7,8, better stay up late

    9,10, never sleep again

  39. Site looks great, Sam! This duel stuff is just plain excting! :<>)

  40. Wow! Can the music on your homepage be anymore creepier? The answer is no, no it can't. That "pocket full of posey" chant sends shivers through my body. Nice!!!

  45. I have sent my e-mail twice. Do you have shipping discounts on the book for orders over ten? Please keep us up to date. We live in West Virginia. How about book signings

    Thanks

  46. Really enjoyed "Cicada's" by Annemarie Bogart. Great story. Loved the idea of Cicada's being the devil's eyes, etc.

  47. And A.J. Brown captivates me again with "The Bone White Hand". Ms. Editor, you've got yourself a winner with this guy! Off to read the others...

  48. Paul,

Thank you for your kind comments, I have passed them onto Donna. As you know, if her contact details are not posted in her bio then I cannot give out her details without prior consent. But, I can tell you that she will be appearing in the upcoming HOH anthology - Creature Features so watch out for that, it will be available to pre-order in a fortnight. If you can give me your email address, then I can get her to contact you with the answers to all of your questions. Contact me here or at horrorhouse.editor@yahoo.com

    Sam

  49. First let me say. I am representing over 70 college friends. Your site kicks ass and the lay out is terrific. Being the spokeman for our group we wanted to give you a shout out and a big thank you. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find erotic lesbian horror? Well let me tell you it is HARD! And it's even harder to find good erotic lesbian horror! That girls got a one of a kind style. It's like Stephen King meets Ellen in Tales From The Crypt. We love Donna Jean Lyons and we love House Of Horror!!! We also like her artwork. It's just as dark as her writing! We've looked all over every issue and can't find anything on her, her art, or her other writings. Top 5 questions from the group. 1) How do we buy copies of her posters in time for Halloween? My favorite one is the missing hair woman.

    2) Where can we buy her books? Are they sold through your site?

    3) Does she write for other web zines? If so which ones?

    4) Where is her picture? It would be nice to put a face with the writer!

    5) How do we contact her?

We first started reading her when you published Werewhore issue 3. Word spread and now she has devoloped a cult campus following. You rock House Of Horror.

The Campus Cult (Paul the evil leader)

  58. A bloody brilliant web site! Sam, you have shown your bravery by publishing dicey and deliciously dark writers. I found every story to be exceptional well written and edited. You are a hard working person with an enormous amount of drive and determination. That's why I believe House of Horror will be the web site to beat when it comes to all things horrific!
